Follen Angels – The Great American Songbook

A Tribute to the Great American Songbook

The Follen Angels at Marblehead Little Theatre

December 2, 2017   7:30 pm

The celebrated musical group, Follen Angels, return to Marblehead Little Theater to celebrate the Great American Songbook. The Follen Angels, international jazz and cabaret recording artists, take Center Stage at the charming Marblehead Little Theater for one enchanting evening of song, stories, and sophistication.

The Great American Songbook includes the most important and influential American composers and lyricists and the most popular songs and jazz standards from the early 20th century. The Songbook comprises standards by George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and Irving Berlin,  Jerome Kern, Harold Arlen, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer, Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart, Oscar Hammerstein, and others. This wonderful music has always remained in style among traditional and jazz singers and musicians, and recently has found new enthusiasm among rock and pop performers such as Rod Stewart, Ringo Starr, and Lady Gaga.

Join HILDY GROSSMAN on vocals, SHINICHI OTSU on piano, KENNETH W. DANTZIG on drums, RICK STONE on sax/clarinet, and SEAN FARIAS on bass for this fun filled evening as The Follen Angels continue their 2017 Fall, East Coast tour, after taking center stage at the renowned “Metropolitan Room” in New York City, Knickerbocker Café in Warwick, RI, and Holiday Inn, Brookline.
