Mary Poppins Artistic and Production Team Bios


Andy Barnett (MLT Technical Director) Following his children’s interest into the world of theater, Andy designed and built his first set at the Marblehead Middle (Village) School in 1992 for “Fiddler on the Roof”. Since then he has built sets for Rebel Shakespeare Company, Endicott College, Gordon College, Opera Boston, Gloucester Stage, Roxbury Center for the Arts, MassJam, Perkins School for the Blind, Boston Center for the Arts, Mssng Lnks, and Marblehead Little Theatre. Andy has been a member of the production team as master carpenter, designer and technical director of Watertown based Revels, Inc. for more than 20 years, creating for The Summer Revels, Riversing and The Christmas Revels. His work is dedicate to his wife Jessica, sons Nick and Jeremy and their spouses, and grandchildren Jacob, Vivienne and Rose, and to Marblehead Little Theater for providing great live theater to patrons of all ages.

Emily Black (Flight Captain)

Steve Black (Director) is excited to direct this 10th anniversary summer production with Lianne Goodwin! As an educator, Steve has taught as a member of the musical theater faculty at the University of New Hampshire and Stonehill College, worked for the Saugus, Salem, and Marblehead Public Schools, and served as a teaching artist for the New York Public Schools, Boston Public Schools, Stoneham Theater, and Paper Mill Playhouse of NJ. His musical direction credits include such organizations as The North Shore Music Theatre, MLT, Turtle Lane and as an assistant music director for the Ogunquit Playhouse. Directing highlights: Les Misérables, Next to Normal, Spring Awakening, All My Sons, Oklahoma!, Songs For A New World (MLT), Awake (NYU), and the New Works Festival (Santa Fe Theatre Festival).  Assistant directing highlights: A Christmas Carol (NSMT); Cherry Docs, The Last Five Years, and Passing Strange (New Rep). Awards: I.R.N.E. nomination (Tommy), Spotlight Award for Best Music Director (NSMT), artist-in-residence awards (Salem Foundation for Public Education), EMACT DASH nomination for Best Director (Oklahoma!, Hairspray, Next to Normal, and Les Miserables). Steve holds a Bachelor of Music degree from UNH and a Master's degree in Theatre from NYU.

Katie Copelas (Stage Manager) is so excited to be a part of Mary Poppins! Currently an undergrad studying neuroscience and biology, she's previously been involved in MLT's productions of Billy Elliot (SM) and Hairspray (ASM). In the past, she's also worked as SM for A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Legally Blonde. She would like to thank Steve for the opportunity to continue her involvement with MLT, Lianne for introducing her to the MLT community in the first place, and the entire cast and production staff for all their hard work!

Greg Dana (Sound Design) is very happy to be working once again with Steve, Lianne, Tyson and the rest of the MLT summer gang along with so many new to MLT actors on this production of Mary Poppins - The Musical. Over the years, Greg has been nominated for (and won a few) EMACT awards for sound, lighting and set design. Even though he is a mathematics instructor by day, he is only able to estimate that he has been involved in 50 or more MLT productions. Greg thanks his family for their patience and understanding when he is off to LA, theme parks and theaters.

Meredith Fein (Props Manager) is a junior at Marblehead High School where she has co-directed a production of Romeo and Juliet and recently done makeup for the production of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. At Marblehead Little Theatre, she stage managed Annie Jr, assistant stage managed Cabaret and Letters From War, house managed The Importance of Being Earnest, was on stage crew for Little Shop of Horrors, and managed props for Rock of Ages. Most recently, she assistant stage managed Letters From War at North Shore Music Theatre. Upcoming events for Meredith include her summer at the Boston University Summer Theatre Institute and her production of Heathers: The Musical at MLT. Meredith would like to thank Steve Black, her supportive family, and the amazing cast and crew!

Lianne Goodwin (Music Director) Lianne is wrapping up her tenth year serving as the director of Chorus and Drama at Salem High School, where she conducts Chorus and Chamber Singers and runs the Drama Club. Since moving to the North Shore ten years ago, Lianne has music directed extensively throughout the area at local schools, community theaters, and colleges, earning a North Shore Music Theater Spotlight award, and multiple EMACT Dash nominations. Outside of school, Lianne also sings with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and has competed internationally with the chamber ensemble “Cappella Nova Mundi”. Lianne earned her Bachelor of Music in Education from the University of New Hampshire, and a Master of Music in Choral Conducting form the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Nicole S. Gulino (choreographer) is thrilled to be back at MLT, this time making her MLT choreography debut! Off-Broadway/National Tour: Mama Bear (The Berenstain Bears). With MLT: Chiffon (Little Shop of Horrors). Select Regional:The Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Pittsburgh Playhouse, North Shore Music Theatre, Carrnivale Theatrics. Favorite choreography credits include Cabaret, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Addams Family (Boston Children's Theatre), White Christmas, The Drowsy Chaperone (Stage 284), Mary Poppins, Peter Pan (Burlington HS). Director/choreographer credits include Legally Blonde, Miss Nelson Is Missing (Boston Children's Theatre), Seussical KIDS, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (The Clark School). Robert Kerrigan ( Producer)

Lori Lord (Co-Producer) began with MLT 28 years ago as an ASM for Gypsy.  She has produced and/or stage managed many shows: (Rock of Ages, Green Day’s American Idiot, Violet, Legally Blonde, Oliver!, 25th Annual Spelling Bee, Willy Wonka, Beauty & the Beast, Peter Pan & The Wizard of Oz).  Other roles:  spotlight, lightboard & sound operator as well as program design.  Awards: 2006 – Best Stage Manager Musical, (Peter Pan) & 2007 - Best Stage Manager Award Musical, (Beauty & the Beast) and Non Musical, (On Golden Pond) from EMACT’s DASH program.  Lori works at St. Mary of the Annunciation School in Danvers in the Technology Department and is the school photographer. She most recently was the producer/stage manager for SMADanvers production of Peter Pan Jr.

Tyson Miller (Lighting Designer) is a Boston based Freelance Lighting Designer. His work manifests itself in theatre, dance, nightclubs, concerts, and museums throughout the country. Tyson served as the Resident Lighting Designer at The ACT, a luxury nightlife and immersive entertainment experience located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates for much of 2016. Throughout the holidays Tyson tours with “America’s Romantic Piano Sensation” Jim Brickman as his Lighting Designer and Production Manager. He was recently nominated for an EMACT DASH award for Marblehead Little Theatre’s production of Billy Elliot. More information can be found at www.twmlighting.com.

Trudi Olivetti (Assistant Director) has a number of directing credits from her many years in the Washington DC area, but this is her local debut as AD. She has enjoyed working with Steve and this terrific artistic staff as well as the enormously talented cast who have all put this show together in record time. Local producing credits (for MLT) include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, A Christmas Carol, Spamalot, Violet, Miracle Worker, and Little Shop of Horrors. Local acting credits include Old Sally, Milk Maid (Oliver!),  Mrs. Krebs (Inherit the Wind), Ann Putnam (The Crucible), Ensemble (Les Misérables), First Witch (Macbeth), adult chorus (The Christmas Revels), Granny (Into the Woods),  Violet (August, Osage County), Gert (The Porch), Hepzibah,(House of the Seven Gables) and Mrs Soames (Our Town).

Susan Parker (Producer) 

Erin Pelikov (House Manager)  is a full-time mom to twins from Marblehead.  She is a dancer and freelance graphic designer. She is the Assistant Director of Forty Steps Dance of Nahant, a modern dance company founded by Sallee Slagle, which performs all over the North Shore and Cambridge. She also teaches dance classes (jazz, tap, toddler tumbling) to all ages at Dance Dimensions in Nahant. In a previous life she danced in Tony Williams' Urban Nutcracker for five years, and played in the rock musical Hair at Turtle Lane Playhouse in Newton. You may have seen Erin recently at MLT's Billy Elliot The Musical, and she also was a stagehand for Anne Lucas' From Silence. Erin loves helping out at Marblehead Little Theatre, and is thrilled to be co-producing Heathers The Musical this fall!

Elvira Schoenthal (Wardrobe Supervisor)

Lou Schoenthal (Technical Production Assistant/Set Coordinator) is thrilled to be involved in MLT’s production of Mary Poppins. He had worked in theater carpentry for over two decades as carpenter, structural designer, set designer, and construction coordinator and has worked at all levels from Middle School (Marblehead Veterans, Collins), to High School (Billerica, Marblehead, Salem, Wakefield, Saugus), to community theater (Wakefield Rep, TC Saugus, MLT) to college (Salem State, Endicott). He is the professional resident carpenter at MLT, the professional carpenter for Christmas Revels and Technical Director of Salem High. His theatrical family includes his costume designer wife, Elvira and actress/singer daughter Julie.

Brian Simons (Costume Designer) Brian has worked as a director, choreographer, designer, actor and vocalist with many theater companies in the Southeastern Massachusetts area. Brian attended Bridgewater State University, where he studied Theatre Arts. As a director and designer Brian has worked with local area high schools including Oliver Ames High School in Easton and Thayer Academy in Braintree. In addition, Brian has worked with a number of local community theatre groups including the Star Players of Massachusetts and The Emerson Umbrella as well as Family Performing Arts Center at Bridgewater State University.
