About Accidentally on Purpose
Founders performed professionally in Boston with scripted improv shows such as Awesome 80’s Prom & Claddagh Bing Irish Italian Wedding show. This seasoned hilarious troupe’s comedy style is similar to the popular TV show “Whose Line is It Anyway?”. The evening requires interactive madcap involvement of the audience with scene suggestions and volunteer opportunities. The AOP Improv troupe has a varied and eclectic cast of professionals whose day jobs include author, teacher, tradesmen, salesperson and corporate executives that have been laughing together for over a decade. These exciting day jobs serve to add a unique flavor to the comedy weaving throughout the night.
Suffrage on Stage: An Evening with Ari Conte
Join the Marblehead Museum and Marblehead Little Theatre for a Women’s History Month program celebrating SUFFS, the Tony-winning musical about the women’s suffrage movement.
March 27 at 7:00pm
This program is sold out. You are welcome to stand by at the door for a no show seat.
Marblehead native and Tony-nominated producer Ari Conte will discuss the journey of turning the inspiring story of suffrage into a powerful Broadway musical. This event will also feature a performance from SUFFS by Marblehead High School students.
Ari Conte is a two-time Tony-nominated producer passionate about bringing women driven stories to the stage. She is a Co-Producer on the Tony Award Winning musical, SUFFS, and GYPSY starring Audra McDonald. Ari is also a performer, writer and trained vocalist. In March 2023 Ari was named one of the “Women to Watch on Broadway” by the Broadway Women’s Fund.
Ari performed in her first show 24 years ago as an orphan in Oliver! produced by Marblehead Little Theater. She enjoyed the music and theater programs provided by Marblehead Public Schools and graduated with a theater degree from Emerson College in 2015. Ari performed her own show “The Women We Carry” at Marblehead Little Theatre in 2019.
She’s very happy to be back at the firehouse, where all her theater dreams began.
Force of Nature
Illusions in Motion Dance Company Premieres Their Annual Performance
Force of Nature
An Evocative, Story-Driven Exploration of the Elements
This July, audiences are invited to step into the world of Force of Nature, a dance performance that channels the emotional power and quiet intensity of the natural world. Presented by Illusions in Motion Dance Company, the show will premiere at Marblehead Little Theatre on July 11 and 12, 2025 at 7 PM.
Tickets are available at illusionsinmotion.com.
Force of Nature is a captivating dance performance that explores the quiet strength and emotional depth of the natural world. Drawing inspiration from the elements—earth, air, fire, and water—the piece unfolds as a series of intertwined stories, each revealing a different facet of nature’s personality: gentle, unpredictable, passionate, and enduring.
Set against a dark, atmospheric backdrop and a textured, cinematic score, the dancers move through shifting landscapes of shadow, light, and color. Flowing fabrics mimic wind and water, glowing embers inspire fiery, rhythmic sequences, and grounded, expressive movement brings the strength of earth to life.
“This performance is about the unseen forces that move us—both human and elemental,” says Emmanuel Encarnacion, co-artistic director. “We wanted to tell stories that feel deeply personal, yet universally connected to something much larger.”
With its sultry tone, emotionally-driven choreography, and rich visual storytelling, Force of Nature offers a fresh, immersive experience for dance lovers and new audiences alike.
